Along with our blog and awareness campaigns, Consent is So Frat runs programs for chapters, Greek life councils, national organizations, and larger Greek communities. These programs build on our awareness efforts to discuss and teach ways that the Greek community can work to promote consent and prevent sexual violence. Here are the four main ways we work with your community:
1) The Consent is So Frat Curriculum: The 90 minute workshop is designed to give Greek organizations the tools and language to discuss consent and sexual violence, as well as the self-efficacy to work as an organization to take action on the issue of sexual assault. Designed for individual chapters or leadership (i.e. IFC/Panhellenic executive board), the curriculum is intended to develop leaders within the Greek community who can pair with other students working to prevent sexual assault and promote consent to create a stronger, safer Greek Life.
2) Consent is So Frat Presentation: A presentation on fraternal values, consent, and sexual assault, designed for a larger audience of multiple chapters/councils. The presentation includes similar information and themes as the curriculum, but without the in-depth interaction and conversation. These presentations are intended to start conversation and begin the work that chapters can do to prevent sexual violence and promote consent in their community.
3) Chapter Support: We are happy to provide support for the work that chapters or councils do on this issue, whether by providing materials or providing advice on the work. At any level of partnership, we like to have two campus representatives – one from a fraternity, one from a sorority – who serve as the link between us and the Greek community at the school.
4) Other Ideas!: We work with schools to provide the services and support they need. Each school is different, and so we try to be flexible to fit their needs. At some schools, we’ve been asked to sponsor Greek Week, speak at Take Back the Night/Other events, and even become an official campaign of the Interfraternity Council.
